A Note on Memorial Services

Please note that memorial services will not be held on the following Sundays in 2026, due to significant liturgical observances:

• January 4th – Sunday before Theophany

• March 1st – Triumph of Orthodoxy

• March 15th – Veneration of the Holy Cross

• April 5th – Palm Sunday

• April 12th – Easter

• April 19th – Thomas Sunday

• May 31st – Pentecost

• December 27th – Sunday after Nativity

  
  

In keeping with Orthodox tradition, memorial services are also not conducted on major feasts of the Lord and the Theotokos — whether fixed or movable — such as the Transfiguration (August 6th), the Annunciation (March 25th), and similar celebrations.

Additionally, memorials are not held during the Twelve Days of Christmas (December 25th to January 5th), nor between Lazarus Saturday and Thomas Sunday, which includes Palm Sunday, Holy Week, Pascha, and Bright Week.

We appreciate your understanding as we honor the rhythm of the Church calendar and its sacred seasons.

Σας ενημερώνουμε ότι, λόγω σημαντικών λειτουργικών εορτών, δεν θα τελούνται μνημόσυνα τις παρακάτω Κυριακές του 2026:

• 4 Ιανουαρίου – προ των Φώτων

• 1 Μαρτίου – της Ορθοδοξίας

• 15 Μαρτίου – της Σταυροπροσκυνήσεως

• 5 Απριλίου – των Βαΐων

• 12 Απριλίου – το Πάσχα

• 19 Απριλίου – του Θωμά

• 31 Μαΐου – η Πεντηκοστή

• 27 Δεκεμβρίου – μετά τη Γέννηση

  
  

Σύμφωνα με την παράδοση της Εκκλησίας μας, μνημόσυνα δεν τελούνται επίσης σε μεγάλες Δεσποτικές και Θεομητορικές εορτές, όπως η Μεταμόρφωση (6 Αυγούστου), ο Ευαγγελισμός (25 Μαρτίου) και άλλες παρόμοιες εορτές.

Επιπλέον, δεν τελούνται μνημόσυνα κατά το Δωδεκαήμερο (25 Δεκεμβρίου–5 Ιανουαρίου), ούτε από το Σάββατο του Λαζάρου έως και την Κυριακή του Θωμά, που περιλαμβάνει τα Βαΐα, τη Μεγάλη Εβδομάδα, το Πάσχα και τη Διακαινήσιμο.
